Private Lessons

Each student receives six private lessons from one of our distinguished faculty members. Students are asked to indicate their teacher preferences on the application form. Attendance of all scheduled lessons is compulsory; any missed lessons will not be refunded. Lessons missed due to illness or an emergency, may be rescheduled at the discretion of the private teacher. Additional lessons may be arranged and paid for directly with the desired teacher.

Masterclasses

Given by guest artists and faculty members, masterclasses take place daily and are open to the public.

Chamber Music

Groups and repertoire are assigned several months before the start of the festival to give ample time for preparation. All groups receive coachings with a member of our faculty and perform on a student concert.

We strongly encourage all students to participate in chamber music, however applicants may choose to opt out of chamber music either at the time of registration or upon confirmation of their acceptance to the festival.

Chamber Orchestra

Students play alongside faculty members in the Festival Chamber Orchestra. The group rehearses daily, and players rotate from week to week.

Public Performances

Students have the opportunity to perform in numerous concerts which are held in different venues around Yerevan. Students are asked to submit their solo repertoire selections at the time of registration. Chamber repertoire will be assigned. All students will receive a calendar with their scheduled performance dates prior to their arrival at the festival.

International Competition

The Aragats International Music Competition is open to all festival participants. Please see the Competition page for more information.

Community Outreach Opportunities

We believe in the importance of bringing the gift of music to underserved communities. Numerous outreach concerts and workshops are being scheduled as part of the festival.

Secondary Instrument

Students who play a second instrument may register for a block of six private lessons with a teacher of their choosing. Applicants who choose this option will need to submit an additional video recording performed on their second instrument. Students have the option of performing on their second instrument.

Day Trips and Sightseeing

Yerevan is a beautiful city with a vibrant cultural scene. All festival classes take place downtown, and students are just steps away from a multitude of sightseeing opportunities. Day trips to nearby attractions will be planned on free days.
